On November 1, 2018, the Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the American Bar Association (ABA) notified Arizona Summit Law School that it has approved the School’s Teach-Out Plan. This Plan will formally commence with the start of the Spring 2019 semester and will conclude with the end of the Spring 2020 semester. To permit the implementation of the Teachout Plan, the ABA has agreed to leave in place the School’s accreditation for the duration of the Teachout Plan, provided the School retains its state license. The accreditation will be continued for the limited purpose of allowing the School to receive credits earned by currently-enrolled students as visiting students at other ABA-approved law schools and to allow the School to award an Arizona Summit J.D. to students meeting the School’s graduation requirements. Apart from the administration and oversight of the Teach-Out Plan, the School will cease operations as an ongoing law school. The School will not admit any students and will not offer any credit-bearing courses.
